The Retirement KITAS (E33F) is Indonesia's dedicated annual residency permit for foreigners aged 55 and above who want to live in Bali long-term. It allows unlimited entries and exits, does not permit paid work, and is the essential first step towards permanent residency (KITAP) after 3 years.

Requirements
- Age 55 or above
- Passport valid for at least 18 months
- Proof of monthly pension or retirement income of at least USD 1,500–3,000 per month from overseas sources
- International health insurance with a minimum of IDR 25,000,000 (~USD 1,600) annual coverage including hospitalisation and liability — basic travel insurance is not accepted
- Lease agreement for accommodation in Indonesia for a minimum of 1 year
- Commitment to employ at least one Indonesian household worker (driver, housekeeper or gardener)
- Personal bank statement from the last 3 months showing a minimum balance of USD 2,000
- Recent colour photograph
Validity & Renewal
- Valid for 1 year, renewable annually for up to 5 years
- After 3 consecutive years you become eligible to apply for a Retirement KITAP (permanent residency)
- Renewal must be initiated 1–3 months before expiry
What You Cannot Do
- The Retirement KITAS does not permit any form of paid employment in Indonesia
- You must maintain your accommodation lease and household staff employment throughout the permit period
Pathway to Permanent Residency
After holding a Retirement KITAS for 3 consecutive years, you are eligible to apply for a Retirement KITAP — Indonesia's permanent stay permit, valid for 5 years and indefinitely renewable. We offer this as a separate service.
